Work with us

Partnership

The first university lab dedicated to agentic finance.

City Agentic Finance Lab (CAFiL) works with banks, insurers, fintechs and other organisations that want to shape how AI agents are used in finance. Partners fund and shape the work; CAFiL designs, runs and publishes it.

Ways to partner with CAFiL

Eight ways to work with us. Many partnerships combine more than one.

Programme funding and sponsorship

Invest in a CAFiL programme, such as a research programme, an executive-education cohort or the Agentic Finance Talks series. Sponsors are recognised within the university’s rules.

Funded technical projects and pilots

Co-fund a pilot: an experiment designed with you, run first in the Agent Sandbox.

Funded business or technical reports

Commission a research report or briefing paper on a question that matters to your organisation, published under our independence statement.

Research collaboration and joint funding bids

Work with us on joint research and on bids to funders such as UKRI, Innovate UK and Horizon Europe.

Executive education partnerships

Develop or support executive programmes for leaders in financial services, including customised programmes for your own teams.

Roundtable and events partnerships

Support the City Agentic Finance Roundtable, Agentic Finance Talks and other events that bring practitioners, regulators and researchers together.

Contributions to the Evidence Register

Share cases, data or results for the Evidence Register. We publish only what the partner approves.

How it works

  1. Conversation We discuss your aims and whether CAFiL is the right partner for them.
  2. Scoping Together we define the questions, outputs, timetable and budget.
  3. Agreement The agreement is made through City St George’s, University of London.
  4. Delivery CAFiL carries out the work and keeps you informed.
  5. Publication and disclosure Results are published under our independence statement, with the funding disclosed.

Investing in CAFiL’s programmes

Funding partners and sponsors invest in CAFiL’s research and education programmes: pilots, studies, reports and cohorts. Agreements are contracted through City St George’s, University of London.

Who it is for

Fintechs and established institutions alike:

  • Banks
  • Insurers
  • Asset managers
  • Payment firms
  • Fintechs
  • Technology providers
  • Investors
  • Regulators and public bodies

Our independence

We choose our own research questions and methods, and we keep the right to publish. Sponsors and partners may comment on drafts but cannot veto findings. Every output discloses its funding. Commercial work is contracted through City St George’s, University of London.

Our scope

We do not work on cyber security, intrusion or threat detection, offensive or defensive security tooling, surveillance, or defence and military applications. Our work on compliance and fraud focuses on governance, evaluation, accountability, consumer protection, liability and redress — not on building detection or surveillance systems. Questions on cyber security and fraud-detection models are referred to specialist colleagues, including City St George’s Institute for Cyber Security.

Questions

What does a partner’s funding pay for?

The work set out in the agreement: for example researchers’ time, experiments, publication or events. Each agreement states what is funded.

How are sponsors recognised?

Within City St George’s rules, as agreed in the contract: for example in the outputs they fund and on the related pages of this website.

Are pilots run with live money or real customers?

No. Pilots are tested in a safe environment before any live use, and the Agent Sandbox uses no live money. Any later live use is a decision for the partner, under its own governance.

Who signs the agreement?

City St George’s, University of London, under its contracting and due-diligence rules.
