Cookie notice
This notice explains the cookies and similar storage used by the website of City Agentic Finance Lab (CAFiL), part of City St George’s, University of London, and how you can change your choice at any time.
Cookies and similar storage
Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device. Browsers can also keep information in their own storage on your device. The same rules apply to both, so this notice covers both.
We keep this to a minimum. The CAFiL website sets no cookies for advertising or for tracking you across websites. Our visitor statistics come from Matomo, which runs on our own server without cookies and stores nothing on your device. To count visits, our statistics script reads basic details from your browser that do not identify you, such as the screen size, the local time and the display setting, and uses them only to understand how the website is used and to improve it. You can stop this at any time with “Count my visit in statistics” in Cookie settings, or by sending a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal from your browser. Your choice
When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice: “Accept all”, “Accept essentials” or “Manage preferences”. Nothing other than essential storage is used before you choose. Your choice lasts six months, after which we ask again. You can change it at any time through “Cookie settings” at the foot of each page.
- Essential (always on): needed for the website to work, including remembering your cookie choice and your display setting.
- Media: videos from YouTube or Vimeo and the map from OpenStreetMap. These come from other websites, which may set their own cookies. Even when you allow media, nothing loads until you press play or choose to show the map. If you have not allowed media, we ask you again at the video or map.
- Visitor statistics (on unless you switch it off): visits are counted without cookies, as described above. Switching it off stops the statistics script from sending anything.
We do not use cookie-based analytics. If that ever changes, an Analytics choice will be added to the banner, it will be off until you turn it on, and this notice will be updated first.

Content from other websites (Media)
If you allow media and then press play or show the map, the content loads from the provider’s website, which may set its own cookies or storage under its own policy. We do not control them. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode and ask Vimeo not to track viewers.

Our fonts, images and our own videos are served from this website and set no cookies.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. If you block essential storage, the website still works, but it will ask for your cookie choice on every page and will not remember a display setting.
